4. General information on data protection
DATA PROCESSING FOR WEB PAGE VISITS
When a website is accessed, a large amount of data – including personal data – is automatically transmitted via the Internet. From a technical point of view, this is necessary for the website to work at all, and also to be able to provide you with the best possible result.
For example, whenever you access a web page, retrieve an image from a server, load an external plug-in (or script), stream a video, or use one of many other means of transmission, data is sent from your computer to the server from which you retrieve it. When you visit a website, your browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera, Safari) automatically sends certain information from your system. This data is, for example:
- Website from which the website or a file (image, script, video) is accessed or in which the file is integrated (referrer)
- Operating system
- Screen resolution
- Keyboard layout (language)
- IP address from which the website or file was accessed
- Name of the accessed web page or file
- Time stamp (date and time) of the access
- Name of the browser and its version
- The amount of data transferred
- Access status (file transfer, error code)
This data is logged by every server. Logging is performed, for example, for
- Maintaining and checking IT security (e.g. to detect hacker attacks) and IT operations
- Statistical analysis (about the use of the website)
- Improvement of the website
- Customized output of the web page or files, so that these can be optimally displayed on your end device
No pseudonymization or anonymization is used for security protocols, as this would not allow any conclusions to be drawn about potential attackers. As a rule, the data is evaluated anonymously for other purposes, and no profiles are generated. You will find additional information in the course of this data protection statement.
DATA SUBJECT
The “data subject” is the person whose personal data are collected and processed. In the following, the “data subject” is also referred to as “website visitor” or “user”.
INFORMATION ON RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT
Every data subject can assert his rights (data subject rights) against the controller. This can be done by email, by post, or by filling out a form. Inquiries by telephone are also possible. However, telephone inquiries will only be received and not answered over the phone. The controller selects the medium (post, e-mail, other media) and sends the answer to the data subject using this medium. The answers to questions about the rights of the data subjects are free of charge. A fee will be charged in the event of over exercising (“high frequency”) the rights of the data subject. The answer will be given within the legal period of one month. The deadline may be extended in exceptional cases (e.g. high number of requests or high complexity of the request). The extension of the deadline is to be justified. The rights of the data subjects are listed below. For the sake of clarity, we have provided only the main terms concerning the rights of data subjects. For more detailed information, please click on the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/reform/rights-citizens/my-rights/what-are-my-rights_en#reference
- Right of access
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to revoke consent
- Right to object
- Right of appeal
The data subject must authenticate himself/herself to the controller to ensure that he/she is legitimized to exercise the rights of the data subject.
On the HUBIT-Datenschutz page you will find a form (in German) with which you can exercise your rights as a data subject with us. Form for exercising rights of data subjects

Data transmission is independent of whether you have a Google account or are logged in to it. If you are logged in, Google can link or associate the data with your user account.
